“Not Ashamed”

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16 ESV

NorthCreek Church worship team leads in the singing of “Not Ashamed” on Sunday, April 22, 2012.

ABOUT THE SONG:
The inspiration for this song came to me during Thabiti Anyabwile’s message, “Will Your Gospel Transform a Terrorist?” at the “Together for the Gospel” conference in Louisville, KY. Do we believe as God’s saints, that His gospel truly has the power to save or do we underestimate it, so much so, that we are ashamed of it?

“NOT ASHAMED”  (pdf) of the song
Words and Music by Glenn Tatum

CHORUS:
Not ashamed, not ashamed; saints of God be not ashamed;
Of God’s gospel and His name; Jesus saves, Jesus saves!
Not ashamed, not ashamed; saints of God be not ashamed;
Of God’s gospel and His name; Jesus saves!

VERSE 1:
It’s the message of the cross; the wisdom of our God.
The worst of sinners saved; the treasures of His grace.
It’s the power of God to save; for all who would believe.
From wrath and hell, redeemed; through Christ, our sin relieved.

VERSE 2:
It’s the righteousness of God; the gift of faith He gives.
Atoned by Christ own blood; so righteous saints may live.
It’s the fear of God not man; the preaching to the lost.
The telling of His grace; the preaching of His cross.
